The blog Cliff James used to wage war against the spanking community on Tumblr (http://thespankingblogtaker.tumblr.com) has disappeared. Maybe he has given up or maybe he didn’t like the spotlight. Who knows…
Dear Cliff, and I know you will read this, I just want you to know a few things:
Firstly, I tried contacting you but all your websites are identity protected (why?) and there seems to be no working email address, so please let me write this here:
I adored your work. I adore all the old spanking mags, Janus, Februs, etc. They were some of the first spanking related things I got my hands on in times before the internet. I loved them. I respected them greatly. They were the pillars and the gods of spanking for me.
Now I feel saddened by your actions. I would have felt honoured to link to your work. Instead, I feel like one of the people whose work I really liked is just a bitter old man who still lives in the past and doesn’t understand the modern internet. I don’t like that feeling and hope this is just a misunderstanding or some misguided actions. Maybe you don’t know any better.
Now guess what: I always toyed with the thought of actually working in this industry. I’m not a spotty kid with a PC either. Grown a little older than that and I can now choose what I do, which includes running companies (sorry to disappoint if you thought I was some kid with a laptop). To cut to the chase: instead of being hammered with copyright violations by your good self, I would much rather prefer to have a chat and talk business with you. Like I said before, there are good people on Tumblr who can drive traffic to you - and that’s just the start. I would love to be part of the old spanking erotica circle and do my part to keep this legacy alive, in whatever way that may be. Drop me a message and we’ll see what we can do. I have companies from marketing to webdesign that can do great things. Spanking great things. Let’s talk. :)

How about, as members of the spanking community, we boycott memberships to any site that is affiliated with Cliff James. Perhaps that will send the message that despite posting an occasional photo that may be copyrighted, WE ARE the people who also support all the paid sites! Lets just stop and think about all the Tumblr traffic that is directed to paid sites because of a posting. The new online paradigm is fixed. There is no going back. If Cliff James wants to shut everyone down, should we not return the favor?

A unpleasant individual by the name of Cliff James is waging war against Tumblr, or to be more precise, against spanking blogs on Tumblr. He has already caused the deletion of a number of accounts by wildly claiming copyright for a myriad of images. We have no idea why he does this (Bitter? No sex life? Who knows…..) but we really need him to stop.He now posts under http://thespankingblogtaker.tumblr.com (I know, how creative…) and myself and many others would be most grateful if:
- You help us reblog this as often as possible
- Set his account to ignore and complain about him to Tumblr.
We all have no idea why this warped individual does this. He clearly doesn’t understand Tumblr or today’s online environment. Some of us have even had contact with him (he claims to have worked for some old spanking magazines but there is no way to prove this) and have agreed to give him full image credit, to which he agreed, only to then turn around and complain anyway.
None of us are malicious copyright infringers. We all just post about stuff we like and we will take images down as soon as we are requested. This individual never even asked! He’s on a mission and completely misses the opportunity of having loads of powerful blogs link to his site. Instead, he is pissing everyone off. So please remember the name Cliff James, please complain about him to Tumblr and please avoid this individual wherever possible. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
